Prolific and innovative youth company- Austinmer Dance Theatre -opened their latest season of contemporary work to an appreciative full house at the iconic Phoenix Theatre recently.
The talented regional company, under the direction of Michelle Forte create an intensely expressive and personal space between the audience and the artist as they perform their exacting and rigorous work entitled -LOCKED IN
The work examines the reality of existence in a prolonged state of conflict, and draws inspiration from the experience of living in a war zone. Choreographically challenging movement and an interesting use of dialogue threaded throughout the work keeps the viewer transfixed, with attention grabbing sequences that immerse the audience in the theme.
The nine technically strong dancers provide a polished and moving work which will undoubtedly broaden ADT’s reputation as one of the most creative and talented regional youth companies on offer.
Since its inception in 2011 Forte’s emerging company have worked consistently to deliver quality contemporary dance productions that are compelling and engaging , the new work adds to their already impressive repertoire of previous works REWYRED,UNCOILED and CRITICAL SHIFT.
