American Ballet Theatre takes class with Queensland Ballet

It’s been a whirlwind year for QPAC with their international series. They have secured the talents of the American Ballet Theatre to tour here from August 28th to September 7th. ABT hails from the Big Apple, New York, yet the company is multi-cultural in nature. This philosophy if being inclusive and adopting a cultural learning curve has meant that ABT continues to learn, mentor and grow as a company in very rich and rewarding ways.

Another coup for Queensland

QPAC will host Swan Lake and 3 smaller productions (Bach Partita, Seven Sonatas and Fancy Free). Each of these 3 latter pieces are approx 30 minutes long yet they still adopt a flavour that I feel Brisbane audiences will love. Artistic Director Kevin Mackenzie spoke today about their passion to share their unique dance productions with Australian audiences. He has a close working relationship with Cunxin Li from Queensland Ballet. They shared the same mentor in the USA.

The publicity tour today focused on sharing knowledge between the principal dancers of ABT and their Queensland Ballet counterparts. Kevin, Li and the Principal Artists also shone a light on the upcoming tour.

Check out the video for further details and make sure you book in to QPAC for their tour.
