Tonight St Patrick’s College took out first place with their performance, The Garden of Illusion, in Open Division of Hobart’s 2012 Rock Eisteddfod Challenge®. St Patrick’s College wowed the audience with a performance that showed how imagination can lift words from the page and transcend reality.
Production Judge, Jen Cramer, described the performance as “visually spectacular” and said that it “took me on such a wonderfully imaginative journey.”
Second place was awarded to St Helen’s District High School with their performance, Right Here, Right Now, which explored the idea of a teenager learning to understand the privileged life she leads here in Australia. Ms Tatterson said, “The schools have worked so hard to get here and it really showed in the quality of the performances tonight. I hope every school joins in the fun in 2013.”
East Launceston Primary School and Trevallyn Primary School hit the stage for J Rock™ and blew the judges away, tackling topics such as weather and technology. The 2012 Rock Eisteddfod Challenge® and J Rock™ are proud to be supporting Australian students to be 100% drug, alcohol and tobacco free.
