Combining Dance Education with Top Choreographers

Dancehub Magazine are bringing another world-class dance workshop with a difference to the dance community across Queensland. Dancehub Magazine have put together an educational dance workshop that combines dance nutrition and dance mentality with 4 different choreographers from across Queensland.

The format of the day begins with a 45 minute Body Conditioning program brought to you by Janice Roy Mundy, a qualified RAD teacher with experience in Bowen Therapy. Miss Janice will warm you up prior to your first Dance Workshop with Elise May. Elise May will then take you for a further 45 minutes in her Contemporary Workshop. Elise is a fantastic choreographer and dancer with Expressions Dance Company.

After a 15 minute break, the Juniors (under 11′s) will take to the floor with a ballet teacher who has taught with Royal NZ Ballet for a Junior only Workshop. We then break for lunch where you can browse the dance stalls and grab a quick bite to eat.

After lunch the educational seminar begins. It’s a 2 hour session with Justine Urbahn (former Dancer and Nutritionist) along with Dancehub who will discuss (Dance Mentality). We encourage teachers and parents to sit with their students or children so they can take back the positive messages to their studios or home environment. Issues like bullying, self esteem, rejection and ‘fitting in’ are all covered.

After the 2 hour session, the seniors take to the floor (12+) for their Classical Ballet workshop with their ballet teacher. The day culminates with a 45 minute workshop with Reece Hopkins from RAW Dance Company. Reece is a world class Tap Choreographer.
