Exciting news for the Mollymook Beach Physie and Dance Club, 2012 is the beginning of a new and innovative year.
Mollymook will be adopting a new form of physie and dance with the Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA).
It is a national curriculum which incorporates modern dance, ballet, lyrical, stretch and strengthening exercises.
It promises to express creativity through an interpretation of movement to modern music.
APDA has vision moving forward into the 21st Century, it offers strength and harmony with an electric vibe.
The creative team consists of choreographers who are well trained in the dance and physie world; RAD Ballet instructor who owns dance schools in Sydney, Certificate 1V in Performing Arts at Brent St who has choreographed TV ads, film commercials, musicals, So You Think You Can Dance and a very experienced physie girl and musical director.
Our teachers Annette Veitch and Jo Greco welcome Alicia Nyholm to the teaching staff.
Alicia will be such an asset to the club and we feel very privileged to have her on board.
Physie and dance is a low cost sport that provides safe dance practice that is age appropriate.
Snippets that we were lucky enough to see at the launch party on Saturday night were amazing and we can’t wait to begin teaching the new syllabus which will be available on a teaching DVD from February 1.
Come along for fun, exercise or work towards both individual and team performances.
Registration Days for 2012 will be held over two days- Tuesday, January 24, at the Mollymook Surf Club from 3.45pm to 6pm and Thursday, February 2, at the Milton Public School from 3.45pm to 6pm.
